DRAMA WEEKS MORETON-IN-MARSH

Working with theatre professionals participants will develop a piece of theatre together, learn how performances transfer from the rehearsal room to the stage and gain an insight into working in a professional theatre.

Enjoy the summer holidays with Peggotty the Hen and her other puppet friends as they embark on an interactive performance.

THEATRE EXPERIENCE AT CARTERTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE DRAMA STUDIO & THE THEATRE
Mon 5 Aug - Thu 8 Aug 9am - 3pm

An inspirational four day workshop designed to introduce young people to the world of performance and theatre. On Thursday they will be transported by coach to The Theatre for technical and dress rehearsals before performing their work on the stage at 5.30pm to invited family and friends.

3 DAY DANCE
Mon 5 Aug - Wed 7 Aug 10.15am - 1pm

Designed with those youngsters in mind who just can’t help but move to music, this workshop will cover a variety of dances including jazz, contemporary, maybe even a bit of tap and they will do some of their own choreography too.

These self-contained creative workshops introduce the young participants to elements of performing arts such as warm-ups, concentration and collaboration.

MUSICAL THEATRE WEEK
Mon 12 Aug - Fri 16 Aug 10am - 5pm

Work with creative practitioners and develop as a musical theatre performer. This week provides a chance to dance, sing and create a show and perform it on The Theatre’s stage.

A MUSICAL IN SIX DAYS (GREASE)
Mon 19 Aug - Sat 24 Aug 10am - 5pm

Working with a director, a choreographer and a musical director, you will develop your skills, discover new ones, learn about professional theatre and rehearse a full musical.

This popular musical, following a group of high school students as they navigate the complexities of love, friendship and teenage rebellion, will be performed by paricipants on the Musical in Six Days workshop.  

MUSICAL THEATRE DAY
Sat 14 Sep 10am - 5.30pm

Here’s an opportunity to enjoy learning and rehearsing song and dance routines and performing them at 5pm on The Theatre’s stage to your own invited audience. Workshop for ages 16 years - 116 years.

Youth Musical Theatre Showcase
Mon 14 Oct 5pm, 7pm

The Youth Musical Theatre group will be showcasing a variety of pieces they have worked on this year.

MUSIC, MAGIC & MYSTERY
Tue 29 Oct 10am - 1pm

 The Oxford Concert Party, who run concerts and education workshops for young people all over the country, will be leading this workshop which culminates in a ‘sharing’ at 12.30pm.

SORCERY, SPELLS & STORYTELLING
Wed 30 Oct 10.30am - 1pm

Actress Polly Highton will lead this spooky storytelling workshop. Participants will work on choral speaking, characterisation and soundscapes to create their own stories which will be performed at 12.45pm.
