Battersby Buildings have 75 flats, yet few residents know each other. Beryl, recently widowed lives on the ground floor, television her only companion. Above her lives Chelsea, struggling as a newly single mum. Along the corridor lives Simon, a young man with learning disabilities and a passion for ‘flash mobbing’. On the top floor lives Laura who, unbeknownst to them, connects them in her role as a Samaritan – they call her when they are feeling at their loneliest. Oxfordshire based Human Story Theatre perform new theatre writing on issues that affect us all in stripped-back, no-frills productions.
The show is followed by a post-show Q&A with experts from the Samaritans and other supporting organisations that welcome volunteers.
