This exhibition celebrates the work of Pauline Nolan and Wendy Todd, two friends who frequently exhibit together at their Garden Studio, Churchill, Chipping Norton.
Pauline works primarily in acrylic paint and ink, using random colour combinations and marks created through experimentation with various tools and materials.
Wendy’s re-purposed projects make use of her precious scraps and vintage pieces of luxe fabrics, old beads and buttons from her rag-bag collection to create individual keepsakes.
Despite working independently, Pauline and Wendy use similar methods, with harmonious results. Each piece evolves through creative flow, rather than from a rigid plan, and both are fond of finding hidden images within their work, which they enhance and develop, adding texture and depth. As a result, each painting or fabrication has its own unique identity, a blend of fantasy, imagination and exploration.
