The Dime Notes dig back into the bluesdrenched sounds of 1920’s New Orleans jazz, unearthing a repertoire of stomps, blues, and forgotten gems of the era. The band is fronted by clarinetist David Horniblow, regular with Chris Barber, Jamie Cullum and Jools Holland and an established figure on the London jazz scene, and American pianist Andrew Oliver, an authority on Jelly Roll Morton and instigator of musical projects from New Orleans to Portland. The Dime Notes present a fresh take on a timeless style, emphasising the propulsive grooves and sultry melodies which made early jazz revolutionary, controversial and wildly popular.
