Since its founding 30 years ago, The Theatre has built a successful reputation for the quality of its programme, its outreach activities, and the originality of its own productions. The Council of Management is seeking a new Chair with enthusiasm and relevant experience to lead the Trustees. The post is entirely voluntary and would suit someone from professional life who was attracted by this rewarding role.

For information please contact Ambereene Hitchcox on operations@chippingnortontheatre.com or 01608 642349

The Theatre Chipping Norton has been shortlisted for The Stage Award for Special Achievement in Regional Theatre, part of the TMA annual theatre awards.  The award, which is chosen by The Stage newspaper, is given to individuals or groups who have made a key contribution to theatre in the regions over the last year, but whose efforts might otherwise be overlooked.

Other contenders include Theatre Royal Stratford East, the Corn Exchange in Newbury, the Schools Theatre Support Group and Chichester Festival Theatre.

Chipping Norton was the only reader nomination to reach the shortlist and was put forward by Sarah Maxfield, chief executive of Oxford Inspires, for its work in bringing “nationally and regionally important work to smaller rural communities”.

Everyone at The Theatre is thrilled at being shortlisted but must now wait until 1st November and the actual award ceremony to find out who has won.
