<description><![CDATA[We're into our final week of our Summer Theatre skills here at The Theatre and with the wet and windy weather around it feels like autumn is almost upon us but we still have loads of cracking films on to brighten your day.On Tuesday 24th August&nbsp;we have Eyes Wide Open (12A),&nbsp;the last of our succesful Israel divided mini-season.&nbsp; Le Concert (15) plays on Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Sunday 27th August.&nbsp; On Tuesday 7th &amp; Wednesday 8th September&nbsp;we bring this year's summer blockbuster Inception (12A) - The film is the stuff that dreams are made on, a collaborative work of great technical skill and imaginative detail The ObserverWe finish the week with Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky (15). <title><![CDATA[Be a tourist in your town]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[Ever wanted to peep into your neighbours' garden or&nbsp;leave the footpath and cross into private land? Our sonnet walks around Chipping Norton&nbsp;are this&nbsp;Friday&nbsp;and Saturday (20th &amp; 21st August) and will take participants off the beaten track and reveal the town in a new light.&nbsp; The&nbsp;walks, co-produced with London theatre company Scary Little Girls, will lead&nbsp;audiences into parts of Chipping Norton usually closed to public eyes including historical sites, private gardens and a few unexpected buildings as well as show you familiar parts of&nbsp;Chippy in a different light.&nbsp; All whilst being serenaded by secret sonneteers along the way.The route and locations are being kept a closely guarded secret but participants should wear clothes and shoes suitable for outside walking and be prepared for all weathers.&nbsp; Each walk will last about 90 minutes, starting from The Theatre and following clues in a written guide to the rendezvous points with the sonneteers who will perform poetry from Byron to Browning and from Shakespeare to Rossetti.The walks depart from The Theatre at 15 minute intervals on Friday and Saturday afternoon and between 6.30 and 7.30pm on Friday evening.&nbsp;&nbsp;Tickets are selling fast with many time slots already full so&nbsp; book your place now by calling The Theatre box office on 01608 642350]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Win An Exhibition Space!]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[The Theatre Chipping Norton is offering the opportunity for two artists to win wall space in its Gallery this autumn. As part of a drive to support the work of the many hundreds of hugely talented local artists through difficult economic times, The Theatre is hoping to find and nuture new talent through its beautiful gallery space. The Theatre welcomes over 50,000 people through its doors every year including several hundred visitors during this year&rsquo;s Artweeks.&nbsp; The Gallery space is used for serving interval drinks, workshops, meetings and for parties ensuring a wide range of people see the works on display.&nbsp; The Theatre is asking artists to submit sample pictures and a brief description of their work and inspirations.&nbsp; The Theatre will then select two artists and work with them to create and market a joint selling exhibition for 7 weeks in September and October.&nbsp;&nbsp; All media will be considered though work must be 2D and able to be hung from the walls. The competition is open to all artists; professional, student and amateur, who would like to sell their work to the general public. The Theatre will support and help to market the exhibition in return for a small commission on any sales. <title><![CDATA[Big Bag of Laughs]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[I first saw New Art Club earlier this year.&nbsp; They were doing a show called This Is Now and I was nervous.&nbsp; The poster was of two guys (Pete and Tom)&nbsp;in leotards and promised to take me back to the dark days of 80s pop via the medium of comic dance.&nbsp; Hmm.I laughed non stop for the full 60 minutes.&nbsp; Their new show, Big Bag of Boom, comes to The Theatre this Friday (the 9th July at 7.45pm) before heading up to the Edinburgh Festival.&nbsp;&nbsp;The company's equivalent of a 'Best of' album, it combines classic moments from the guys' last decade of award winning shows, giving fans the opportunity to see the best bits again and, for fans-who-don't-know-they-are-yet, a chance to see what they have missed.&nbsp; And its very funny.&nbsp; Tickets are just &pound;10 and are available via our box office - 01608 642350www.newartclub.org]]></description>

<title><![CDATA[Awesome Art takes over The Theatre]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[For this year&rsquo;s North Oxfordshire Artweeks The Theatre is throwing open its doors and turning many of its front of house areas into exhibition spaces.&nbsp; Five local artists; Amanda Butler, Charlotte Copley, Joanna Davies, Jill Gemmell and Rita Wheatley, are displaying work together throughout various spaces at The Theatre including the Gallery, the space and the bar.&nbsp;Each artist is showing a collection of work, some drawing inspiration from local landscapes and others from faraway places.&nbsp; There&nbsp;are colourful acrylics and subtle landscapes, bright portraits to telling still life &ndash; a full palette of work for any visitor to enjoy.&nbsp;From 1pm on Wednesday 26th May there is the opportunity to meet some of the artists exhibiting and put your questions to them in a free lunchtime soundbite (sandwiches and drinks available to buy).&nbsp;Then on Thursday 27th May there is a screening of Nightwatching (certificate 18), Peter Greenaway&rsquo;s new film, looking at the romantic and professional life of Rembrandt and the controversy he created by the identification of a murderer in a painting.
